Driving Instructor Training logo helps identify car thieves
Two people suspected of stealing cars were arrested yesterday in London. The couple, a forty-year-old woman and a thirty-five-year old man may be accused of stealing several cars form the centre of London. A few days ago, at 2 a.m., they broke into a garage situated at a guarded estate and stole a black Volkswagen Polo. They immediately left the city and headed north. In the morning, the owner of the car, who is a driving instructor, called the police to report a theft of his car. He said there was a logo of his school on the bonnet of the car and a large driving instructor training inscription on its left side. As the theft was being reported, the thieves were driving north, not having realised they might be so easily recognised. Several hours later, they were arrested near Birmingham. They were stopped on the motorway by the police. It was only after they were asked to leave the car when they saw the big Driving Instructor Training inscription on the left front door. At the moment, the police are trying to find out if the couple can be accused not only of stealing this car, but also other cars that had been disappearing from the centre of London for several weeks.
